This year’s General Assembly is notable as several countries are expected to announce their recognition of the state of Palestine. Erdogan expressed hope that these developments will strengthen the momentum for a two-state solution. In addition to formal meetings, he will engage with counterparts from multiple countries and participate in discussions aimed at fostering regional stability. He also praised the new Syrian administration for attending the assembly, describing it as a positive step after a long period of conflict and instability in the region.
Erdogan’s itinerary in the US includes a visit to Washington, DC, where he is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and defense, with regional issues at the forefront. While in New York, the president will also meet with Turkish citizens, leading members of the US business community, and representatives from think tanks, highlighting Turkey’s commitment to strengthening international relations on multiple fronts.
