Some cities are visited. Others are lived.
London, for me, is deeply felt.
England is not just a country; it is a world where elegance, deep-rooted history, and a refined lifestyle come together. And especially London… every corner tells a different story, every street carries traces of the past.
Life in Mayfair: Where London’s Elite Meet
I lived in Mayfair for many years. This gave me the opportunity to experience London not as a visitor, but as a resident.
Berkeley Square, where my husband’s business is based, is one of the most prestigious addresses in the world.
Right next to it is Annabel’s—an iconic private club where some of the world’s most exclusive individuals gather. Thanks to our close connection with its owners, it became one of my favorite places in London.
In the same area, you also find refined venues such as Harry’s Bar, The George, and Mark’s Club—places where influential figures from business, culture, and society meet.
What makes these spaces truly special is exclusivity. Not everyone can enter, which is exactly what preserves their sense of refinement and distinction.
The Ritual of Afternoon Tea
One of England’s most elegant traditions is its tea culture.
In the 1800s, women gathered mainly in private homes. This changed when The Ritz London introduced afternoon tea, transforming it into a cultural ritual that is now recognized worldwide.
Even today, the atmosphere at The Ritz alone makes the experience unforgettable.
Hyde Park: A Personal Escape
One of the most special places in London for me is Hyde Park.
It is one of the most beautiful parks in the world, offering everything from horseback riding to peaceful walks.
It was only a five-minute walk from my home—a place where I spent time with my dog, hosted guests, and always found a sense of calm in the middle of the city.
A Hidden Artistic World in Holland Park
In Holland Park, there is a hidden gem even many art lovers overlook: Leighton House Museum.
This is the former home of Frederic Leighton, a world-renowned artist born into an aristocratic family.
He devoted his life entirely to art, never married, and shared a close life with his sisters. He also served as President of the Royal Academy of Arts, shaping it into the prestigious institution it is today.
The house he built in Holland Park is breathtaking. Encountering such an artistic, grand, and authentic home in the heart of London is rare. It remains one of the most impressive residences I have ever seen.
Over time, many artists moved to the area, turning Holland Park into a prestigious neighborhood known for its creative and cultural residents.
London Beyond the City
England is not only about city life.
Its countryside offers a completely different world—quiet, simple, and deeply elegant.
Yet London’s energy, sophistication, and historical depth will always hold a special place in my heart.
A Personal Reflection
For moments of true indulgence, The Dorchester Spa remains, in my view, one of the finest in the world.
England…
An experience you grow to love more with time.
