Japan Hosts Central Asia Plus Japan Dialogue Summit in Tokyo

Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi delivered welcoming remarks at the leaders-level “Central Asia plus Japan” Dialogue (CA+JAD) summit held in Tokyo on December 20, 2025. The high-profile meeting brought together the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, marking an important step in strengthening political dialogue and expanding cooperation between Japan and the Central Asian region.

During the summit, leaders discussed ways to deepen collaboration in key areas including trade, investment, energy, infrastructure development, digital connectivity, education, and human resource development. Emphasis was placed on promoting autonomous, inclusive, and sustainable development across Central Asia, as well as enhancing regional stability and economic resilience amid evolving global and regional challenges.
