Comet Lemmon now visible from Slovakia

Local stargazers and astrology enthusiasts Tamas Csabala (right) and Viktor Szeman gaze into the night sky over Debrad, Slovakia, searching for the brilliant Comet Lemmon “C/2025 A6” as it glows among the stars. The rare celestial event attracted skywatchers from across the region, eager to catch a glimpse of the comet’s luminous tail and vibrant greenish hue as it passed through a visible section of the northern hemisphere’s night sky.

Equipped with telescopes and cameras, Csabala and Szeman positioned themselves in the rural outskirts of Debrad, where minimal light pollution offered an unobstructed view of the cosmic spectacle. The comet, first discovered in early 2025, has fascinated astronomers worldwide due to its bright nucleus and long dust tail, visible even to the naked eye under clear skies.

As temperatures dropped and the night deepened, the two enthusiasts shared observations about the comet’s movement and brightness, noting its slow trajectory across the constellations. For local astronomy groups, the sighting of Comet Lemmon “C/2025 A6” was a highlight of the year — a reminder of the vastness and beauty of the universe that continues to inspire curiosity and wonder among both professional astronomers and amateur skywatchers alike.
