Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (C) attends the 110th Term District Governorship Course Drawing Ceremony held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. The event, organized by the Ministry of Interior, marked the official assignment of newly graduated district governors to their first posts across various provinces of Türkiye.
In his address, President Erdoğan congratulated the new governors and emphasized the importance of public service rooted in integrity, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility toward citizens. He highlighted that district governors, as the state’s representatives in local administrations, play a vital role in maintaining the connection between the government and the people, ensuring that national policies are effectively implemented at the local level.
Erdoğan also underlined the significance of strong local governance in fostering regional development, enhancing public safety, and improving the quality of public services. He encouraged the newly appointed officials to uphold fairness, transparency, and compassion in their duties while staying closely engaged with local communities.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, senior government officials, and members of the administrative judiciary were also in attendance. During the ceremony, lots were drawn to determine the new governors’ provincial and district assignments — a longstanding tradition symbolizing impartiality and merit-based appointment within the Turkish administrative system.
The 110th Term District Governorship Course is part of a comprehensive program designed to train civil administrators in public management, crisis response, leadership, and communication skills. Graduates of the course are expected to serve in key regional posts, contributing to Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance and administrative efficiency.
