This is the story of Neşe Özdemir, a woman who left behind her successful salon business in Istanbul to start over from scratch in the UK — with no language, no support system, and only one purpose: to secure a brighter future for her two daughters.
Three years later, Neşe stands tall as the proud founder of Studio N, a thriving beauty studio in West Wickham. Her journey is one of courage, resilience, and unshakable faith.
“I started from zero, but I never lost faith.”
“When I came to the UK, I didn’t speak the language. I had left everything behind — my business, my home, my comfort zone. But I knew why I was doing it. It was for my daughters. I told myself that if I had built a life once before, I could build it again.”
With a background in hair and beauty education and over two decades of experience in the industry, Neşe slowly began to rebuild her career.
“It wasn’t easy,” she says. “Everything was new — the culture, the system, even the way people worked. But I never let fear stop me.”

Founded three years ago in West Wickham, Studio N has become a trusted name for professionalism, creativity, and warmth.
“Every client who walks through my door is part of my journey,” Neşe explains. “They are the reason I push myself every single day. Their trust means everything to me.”
A few weeks ago, she proudly celebrated the third anniversary of Studio N — not only marking business success, but also honoring the incredible personal resilience that made it possible.
“It wasn’t just a celebration — it was proof that I made it.”
“The third-year celebration was emotional,” she admits with a smile. “It reminded me of every tear, every night I prayed, and every step that brought me here. It’s not just about hair or beauty — it’s about believing in yourself and creating something that touches people’s lives.”
Looking ahead, Neşe plans to expand Studio N’s reach with training programs, collaborations, and community projects.
“I want to empower women — to help them believe they can achieve anything they dream of, no matter where they come from.”
“What keeps me going is the belief that I was born to prove them wrong.”
When asked what truly motivates her, Neşe’s eyes light up with determination.
“What motivates me the most is showing those who tried to stop me that I will never give up. My journey has been filled with challenges — not only in Türkiye, but also here in the UK. I faced rejection, loneliness, and even mobbing. Yet, every time I fell, I stood back up.”
She takes a deep breath before continuing:
“There were nights I cried while reading the Qur’an, asking God for strength because I had no one else to rely on. My daughters were everything to me — their tears, their words, ‘Go, Mom. You’ll succeed. Don’t give up, we believe in you,’ gave me the courage to return when I almost went back to Türkiye.”
Neşe recalls the pain of living apart from her children during those early years — three weeks in the UK, one week in Türkiye — for nearly two years.
“It was heartbreaking. But their faith in me gave me strength. Today, everything I’ve built is not just for me — it’s for them, and for every woman who feels she can’t start over.”
